Adapted ballet: effects on the skills in physical old

Introduction: the increase in life expectancy meant that raise new interests related to aging, directing the polls to try to reduce the deleterious effects of advancing age, in an attempt to prolong the independence of the elderly. Purpose: To check the physical fitness of older, pre and post intervention of eight weeks of training for a ballet adapted. Materials and Methods: The participants were subjected to physical tests pre (M1) and after (M2) intervention of a memorandum of classes in ballet adapted. The analysis was performed by the program of statistics in Graph Pad Stat. The intra-group comparison was made by the mean and standard deviation of M1 and M2 using the Wilcoxon test-matched pairs, for samples with non-normal distributions. All statistical conclusions were made at 5% probability. Results: There was significant increase in physical fitness, except the speed and agility. Discussion: The results corroborate with other studies that recognize the benefits of physical activity in the functional autonomy of the elderly, improving the levels of physical fitness and decreasing rate of falls. Conclusion: In addition, it appears that a memorandum of ballet adapted itself shows favorable results for the improvement of any of physical fitness in the population studied.
